A few Heinkels reported by the British minister at Beirut, and the Turkish consul at Mosul. Russia has recognised Rachid Ali, so what to do – this isn’t over yet.

Today, with W/O Frewin and Haig, went to bomb petrol tanks at Rachid, the old Hinaidi. For the first time I put a stick bang on what I aim for, but 20lbers don’t seem much good. Yesterday Dan and his boys put 18 holes through the factory at Musaib (the one I missed). One Brushwood, here, who was attached to the Iraqi Air Force in some engineering capacity, knows exactly what is where in the target line. Much cooler today.
