Baghdad taken and armistice granted. Germams supposed to have arrived with 50 and to have left with 22 ‘planes. An ME110 found on the ground today and one Blenheim vanished on recco. two days ago. Dan announced today dissolution of the squadron and final dissolution of 4 FTS. The Audaxes are to be flown to Egypt and instructors probably to form a fighter and bomber squadron here.

Nigen Gribbons turns up last night, his regiment being Brigade reserve out near the hotel by the lake side. Bob May and I drive him back, slightly intoxicated, then stop for supper there, just like old Frontier days – eaten in a bare tent under a new moon. Stonhill back from captivity, having been taken up to Kirkuk and seen some Germans there. 37 prisoners returned including John Addy.
