June 22nd 1943 – Trichinopoly

I nip over to Bangalore one morning and see a few “stooges” in 225 Group landing at Hindustan aircraft factory landing ground. Then I hear a signal ordering me to report to Delhi for medical board “to see if I am fit to continue service overseas due to recurrent malaria.” So if they board me I suppose that I shall go back to the Indian Army as a Lieutenant – Christ!

An awful journey to Delhi before me by train. I came down to Trichi today in my Hurricane, a most enjoyable trip, and find a fair amount of cock going on in my absence.
