April 11th 1939 – Razani

A bit of sniping some two days ago on R.P. troops returning to camps, and also during the relief on Conical Picquet. On the night of 9th/10th someone lit a fire in the supply depot. The long row of lorry sheds opposite to Bagai’s office was burnt down. It must have been sabotage as the fire started all along the line of sheds simultaneously. Also several witnesses say that they saw torches flashing inside, and then someone running away later on. Anyway, it was a damn good fire, though I missed it being in bed, but the next day at about 1pm there was still a flame licking out of a window. Eight or nine vehicles were destroyed, and including a few three ton lorries, reputed to cost Rs 20,000/- each.
